Selena Gomez is ready for her next role: motherhood.
To celebrate the final episode of the Wizards of Waverly Place sequel, Wizards of Waverly Place, she posted a sweet message on her Instagram Story on Thursday night.
“Alex Russo is a mom,” she captioned a clip from the season 2 finale, referring to her character.
“I hope that someday it will be me.”
Gomez, 33, has a brief cameo in the Disney+ show, which focuses on a new generation of wizards from Waverly Place, including young Billy, who is sent to live with Alex’s older brother Justin for training.
In the season 2 finale, it is revealed that Billie, played by Gomez, is Alex’s daughter before she sacrifices herself by falling into a portal to save her family.
The “Kill ‘Em With Kindness” singer’s post comes about two weeks after she tied the knot with music producer Benny Blanco in an intimate ceremony in California.
Back in March, Gomez and Blanco said on the Jay Shetty podcast that they couldn’t wait to start a family together.
“Obviously I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I love my kids,” Gomez told host Jay Shetty. “I love making (the kids) laugh. They’re really sweet, so I’m really looking forward to that day.”
Blanco, who went public with Gomez in December 2023, doubled down on his hopes in an interview with InStyle in June.
“I love children. I love being an uncle. But if God wants it, I want to be a father,” he told the outlet, adding, “I just dream and pray every day.”
But last year, the Emilia Perez actress revealed that medical issues left her unable to have children of her own amid her battle with lupus.
Nevertheless, she admitted to Vanity Fair in October 2024 that she is interested in starting a family using surrogacy or adoption.
“I really appreciated other outlets for people who want to be mothers, and I’m one of them,” she said at the time. “I’m excited to see what that journey will be like, but it’s going to be a little different.”
