On Friday, Selena Gomez shared a rare makeup-free selfie, showing off her glowing skin.
The “Murder in the Building” star sat leaning on her hands while wearing a white tank top and slicking her hair back. She smiled kindly at the camera and showed a cheerful expression even without makeup. Behind her, a soft rose background complements the casual look.
The Rare Beauty founder sported a very different look from the day before at the Rare Beauty Warm Wish Powder Bronzer launch party. There, she looked totally glamorous with dramatic eyeliner, mascara, bronzer, and glittery eyeshadow. Her hair was styled in a “wet” look and she wore a dark-colored sleeveless top.
In a 2024 interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, Gomez spoke about founding Rare and her approach to makeup.
“I’ve always loved makeup, but my relationship with makeup and beauty has really evolved over the last few years,” she said. “At one point, I struggled with comparing myself to others, but I’ve learned that there is a lot of beauty in what makes us unique.”
The I Said I Love You First singer also explained her go-to look, which is somewhere between bare-faced and full-on.
“It really depends on my mood and where I’m going, but my easy go-to is a red lip,” she explained. “It feels like an instant way to create an elevated look.”
Rare Beauty is an opportunity for pop stars to talk and think about beauty, and said she was “so excited” to “help shape our conversation.”
“I’m not here to compete with anyone,” Gomez continued. “I started Rare Beauty with the desire to create a brand that could make a difference. My goal has always been to enable open and vulnerable conversations about beauty and mental health and how they are connected.”
