Jelly Roll’s daughter Bailey Ann isn’t a fan of his facial hair changes.
As recorded in a YouTube video Thursday, the 17-year-old girl demanded her father “stay there” when he entered the kitchen to reveal his shaved face.
After many double-takes and backing away from the jelly roll, the teenager covered his eyes and began shaking with a mixture of tears and laughter.
“Oh my god, I’m crying,” she said. “I don’t like this. It looks like a turtle!”
As she continued to giggle and wipe away her tears, Bailey Ann looked down and said, “Oh, I don’t like this.”
She said, “I don’t know if I’m laughing or feeling sad.”
Taking a deep breath and putting her hands on her hips, Bailey Ann turned to look at her father again, then burst into laughter and turned away again.
Jelly Roll, who adopted him as a teenager from a previous relationship, was worried he would look like a ninja turtle before shaving his beard.
“The last time I shaved my face, I had just gotten out of prison,” the “Need a Favor” hitmaker explained to subscribers. “I have a feeling I’m going to look like a Ninja Turtle, but I’m going to shave this motherfucker’s face and surprise my family.”
The decision came after Jelly Roll’s more than 200-pound weight loss, which made headlines.
“I don’t know what I look like,” he told viewers. “I grew a beard to hide my double chin, but it’s clear that I’ll always have a double chin.
“One of the reasons I started growing a beard was because I was so obese,” the Grammy nominee, real name Jason Bradley Deford, continued elsewhere in the upload. “It was easier to hide what was going on here.”
As for his thoughts on the final result, Jelly Roll quipped, “I thought the chin was at least half an inch longer than it actually was, but, well, you never knew. It was a science experiment gone wrong.”
The songwriter told his wife, Bunny XO, about his plans to shave, but the Dumb Blonde podcast host’s reaction was not included in the footage.
But she previously told her Instagram followers: “I want to see that jawline.”
Jelly Roll’s followers took to the comments section to praise his transformation, with one gushing: “You’re an amazing man. Congratulations. You’re worth all the hard work you’ve put in.”
The rapper has been candid about his weight loss journey over the years, publicly celebrating losing 100 pounds for the first time during a concert in October 2024.
When Jelly Roll lost another 100 clothes earlier this year, he posted about revamping his wardrobe with bad designers.
