On February 9th, Angelina Jolie appeared on the red carpet at the Paris premiere of her latest film, Couture, wearing an outfit befitting the movie’s setting. Jolie attended the event at the Pathé Palace wearing a sheer, floor-length dress embellished with intricate metallic beading that created a silver floral pattern.
The dress featured short sleeves, a fitted silhouette, and a hem finished with delicate fringes that moved with each step. She styled her look simply with pointy-toed black heels and minimal jewelry.
The premiere was a significant moment for Jolie. In Couture, Jolie plays Maxine Walker, an American filmmaker who works during Paris Fashion Week despite a breast cancer diagnosis. Speaking about the film during a Deadline panel at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, Jolie said, “This is something very personal to me, and women’s health and women’s cancer is very personal to me.”
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in September, director Alice Winocour made it clear that Couture is not just a film about the fashion industry. “This is a movie about a woman who finds out she has cancer. It’s not a movie about cancer,” she said. “In the same way, this is a film about a young African girl who arrives in Paris and faces the harshness of the world; it’s not a film about fashion.”
Winocour added that the focus was on the emotional connections between the film’s characters, explaining, “We wanted to show a sense of solidarity between women.” She explained that the film is about “sharing seams – how you can connect with people who come from completely different worlds.”
