Scott Baio, who co-starred in Jennifer Runyon’s Charles in Charge, paid tribute to the late actress in a touching Instagram post on Sunday.
“It was such a pleasure working with Jennifer Runyon on ‘Charles in Charge,'” Baio, 65, told his followers over the weekend in a joint post with former co-star Josie Davis. “She was a sweet, kind and generous actress to work with.
“Jennifer played my longtime girlfriend on ‘Charles in Charge,’ but she’s also been a wonderful mother[to son Wyatt and daughter Bayley]and wife[to Todd Korman],” he continued.
Runyon played Gwendolyn Pierce on the sitcom from 1984 to 1990, while Baio played the show’s title character.
“The last time we met was at the Hollywood Christmas Parade at the end of 2019,” he continued.
The actor went on to send his “heartfelt condolences, prayers and sympathies to (Ranyon’s) family during this difficult time.”
He concluded, “God bless her and her family. 🙏.”
Baio’s social media uploads include a smiling red carpet snap from the 2019 parade mentioned in the caption, where he wore a “Charles in Charge” jacket.
Runyon’s family announced Sunday that the “Ghostbusters” star passed away two days ago at the age of 65.
“Last Friday night our beloved Jennifer passed away. It was a long and arduous journey, but she ended it surrounded by her family,” her loved ones wrote.
“Her love of life and dedication to her family and friends will always be remembered. I can see her looking down on us all from above with her beautiful smile. Rest in peace our Jen.”
Representatives for Mr. Runyon have not yet responded to Page Six’s request for comment.
The cause of Runyon’s death has not been disclosed, but “Enchanted” actress Erin Murphy posted a touching tribute on Instagram, giving insight into her late friend’s health issues.
“It is with great sadness that I share that my friend Jennifer Runyon Corman has passed away after a short battle with cancer,” she wrote about the “special woman” over the weekend.
“Some people know they’re going to be friends before they meet.”
In addition to “Ghostbusters” and “Charles in Charge,” Runyon is best known for playing Cindy Brady in the 1988 film “A Very Brady Christmas.”
