Dropout, the streamer and media company formerly known as CollegeHumor, has made key hires and promotions across its growing production, development and marketing teams.
New hires include Alexandria Black-Davis as head of marketing, Lindsay Wilkinson as head of production, and Elise Findley and Rosie Kahler as development managers. Additionally, Dropout staffer Ebony Elaine Hardin has been promoted from supervising producer to production director.
The wave of change comes on the heels of Dropout’s paid streaming service, which distributes comedies like “Dimension 20,” “Game Changer” and “Make Some Noise,” which reached 1 million subscribers last fall, when the company added an optional “Superfan” subscription tier. These additions are part of Dropout’s overall strategy to expand its development slate, license and acquire new programs, expand its production capabilities, and prioritize marketing strategies for each project.
“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Lindsay, Alex, Elise and Rosie to the Dropout team and elevate Ebony to her rightful leadership role,” said Dropout CEO Sam Reich. “Expanding our production, development and marketing teams is a natural and exciting next step as we reach new milestones as a business. I can’t wait to see how these talented team members will enhance what we offer and how they will deliver it to our audiences.”
Black-Davis has led teams at leading retail and media companies including BELLA+CANVAS, Shinola, and Whip Media. She will lead all of Dropout’s marketing efforts and will be at the forefront of maximizing the brand’s potential.
Wilkinson will oversee Dropout’s end-to-end production pipeline, helping deliver “consistent, high-quality programming that aligns with Dropout’s brand and creative vision.” Her credits include work on major networks such as ABC, NBC, VH1, MTV, HGTV, E!, and the Food Network, as well as notable projects such as “Below Deck,” “Cupcake Wars,” the Critics’ Choice Awards, and the American Music Awards.
Findley is a Disney veteran who comes to Dropout with a background in comedy and animated series development, programming and strategy, having worked on multiple Annie and Emmy Award-winning projects including “Disney Mickey Mouse,” “Big City Greens” and “DuckTales.”
Mr. Culler has an extensive background in late night television, most recently producing the Emmy Award-winning shows John Mulaney’s “Everybody’s in LA” and “The Late Late Show with James Corden.” Kaller, a CollegeHumor alumnus, has produced and developed series and films at HBO Max, iHeart Media, Aggregate Films, and Mar Vista Entertainment.
Hardin, who most recently served as supervising producer, has been promoted to production director after nearly nine years at Dropout. In his new role, he will oversee the physical production of the company’s entire original comedy program and work closely with creative leaders to support creator-driven storytelling. Harden has been credited by Dropout’s leadership team for “contributing to the expansion of Dropout’s operational operations and long-term infrastructure.”
