Savannah Guthrie’s brother Camron made a desperate plea to his mother Nancy Guthrie’s kidnappers after the ransom deadline passed on Thursday.
“This is Camron Guthrie. I’m speaking on behalf of the Guthrie family,” he said in an Instagram video.
“I’m speaking on behalf of the Guthrie family. We want to hear from you, whoever is holding our mother. We haven’t heard anything directly. We need you to reach out. We need a way to communicate with you in order for us to move forward.”
“But first you have to know that you have our mother,” Kamron added. “We would like to talk to you and are waiting to hear from you.”
Kamron’s message to the perpetrators came just after one of the ransom notes passed its deadline at 5pm Montana time (7pm ET) on Thursday.
Earlier in the day, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office held a press conference announcing that they had witnessed a ransom note from the alleged kidnappers.
Details were kept secret, but FBI Phoenix Special Agent Heiss Janke revealed that the author had requested a “transfer” by the deadline.
The memo also included another deadline on Monday.
Earlier this week, ransom notes were sent to two different news outlets demanding millions of dollars in Bitcoin and threatening to pay “or else.”
Additionally, the FBI has placed a $50,000 reward for information leading to Nancy or the arrest and conviction of those “involved in her disappearance.”
No one has been named as a suspect, and investigators have not ruled out anyone.
Nancy was last seen around 9:48 p.m. when a relative dropped her off at her residence in Catalina Foothills, Arizona.
The doorbell camera was disconnected at 1:47 a.m. Sunday and a person was detected at the front door at 2:12 a.m., but no footage was available.
After about 20 minutes, the matriarch’s pacemaker app disconnected from her phone.
Nancy’s family discovered she was missing at 11:56 a.m. after she had missed a church service.
Blood confirmed to be Nancy’s was found outside the home.
