Savannah Guthrie could be back in the chair within weeks.
Sources told Page Six that the host hopes to return to the “Today” show after his children’s spring break, although plans may change depending on how his mother’s case develops.
Most schools in New York will resume classes by April 10th.
The journalist reportedly wants to spend as much time as possible with her husband Michael Feldman, daughter Vale, 11, and son Charlie, 9, before returning to the spotlight.
Many factors are involved in the investigation and her own progress.
His mother, Nancy, went missing from her home in Arizona in January.
We also hear that Hoda Kotb, who holds this position, has a busy schedule as she prepares for the release of the Joy 101 app. She recently held a wellness retreat in Scottsdale, Arizona from March 13th to 15th.
A source assures that Kotub’s plans are not adding pressure. In her absence, another anchor will take her place.
However, another source close to the “Today” show told Page Six that “there has been no announcement regarding Savannah’s return date and Hoda will continue to fill in for her.”
On March 5, Guthrie visited his colleagues in Studio 1A at Rockefeller Center and thanked them, saying, “They cared about my mother as much as I do.”
“I wanted you to know that I’m still standing, that there’s still hope, that I’m still me,” she said. “And I don’t know what version of me that will be, but it will be.”
He also announced that he would be returning to work.
“I’m going to come back,” she told her colleagues. “I don’t know how to go back, but I also don’t know how not to go back. You’re my family. And I want to try.”
