Sabrina Carpenter made her Grand Ole Opry debut on Tuesday, October 7th in Nashville. The singer wore a dazzling black strip dress from the Bob Mackie archives designed for Ann-Margret in the 1970s. Shirley Crowe featured Carpenter’s performance at the historic venue.

Sabrina Carpenter scored a sold-out tour of the Grand Ole Opry with her debut performance at the historic Nashville venue on Tuesday, October 7th.

Carpenter, 26, wore a Bob Mackie archive “black jersey one-shoulder strip dress with large crystal and diamond jewels,” according to the designer’s Instagram. Ms McKee, 86, confirmed that the dress was originally designed for Ann-Margret in the 1970s and shared the original sketches of the stunning design.

The “Tears” singer completed her look with glittery heels and her signature retro-inspired blonde bombshell explosion. “Made my @opry debut in Nashville last night and what a magical night it was,” Carpenter wrote in the caption of an Instagram post shared on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

Sheryl Crow introduced Carpenter’s performance, and the “Espresso” singer said she was Crowe, 63,’s “biggest fan of all time.”

Carpenter wrote, “Thank you to the amazing band that accompanied me last night.” “Thank you to all the amazing fans who came and to the Opry patrons who opened up to me with their welcoming ears and hearts:’) I’m a lucky girl!”

In the post, Carpenter shared a photo of herself on stage performing with the Bob Mackie Ensemble, a behind-the-scenes snap with Crowe, and a throwback photo of Dolly Parton performing at the Opry early in her career.

Since its first broadcast in 1925, the Grand Ole Opry radio show has helped make countless country stars famous. Parton, 79, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and countless country icons appeared on the show, as well as contemporary country singers like Kacey Musgraves and Kelsea Ballerini. The show’s current home, the Grand Ole Opry House, opened in 1974.

Carpenter and Parton previously collaborated on a remix of Short & Sweet’s track “Please Please Please Please.” The two appeared in a music video along with the duet in February.

“Dolly and I were singing in the pickup truck!!!!!!,” Carpenter posted on Instagram at the time. “I’m so honored to have one of my biggest idols participate in a song that means so much to me. ‘Short and Sweet’ Deluxe has been released! Please watch and listen to it!!!!”

“Love you forever @DollyParton 🤍🦋,” she added.

This performance comes just days after Carpenter co-starred with Shania Twain in Austin City Limits on October 4th.
