Ryan Sutter says he shaved his head to resolve the hair loss struggle

Ryan Sutter celebrated his latest birthday with a shocking haircut transformation.

Bachelorette and the former NFL player turned 51 on September 14th and later revealed on Instagram that he shaved his new age as a way to deal with his hair loss.

“I was tired of slowly watching my hair fall off, so I cut it all off, and quickly made sure I saved the day and experience by taking a picture of my new passport.”

He admitted that the moment commemorating the moment could have been “an overreaction,” but he described his decision as a “simple response to an overly complicated life” that “is losing my self, identity, credibility and joy.”

He continued: “It should not be that difficult to feel joy or sadness without conditions for yourself and each other. To be kind, it should not be that difficult to be kind, useful and supportive.”

Sutter went on to say, “We will never agree with everyone or we will never convince everyone to agree with us. That’s a good thing.” He said, “No hair or anything, we’re together. Maybe we’ll act like that?”

In the comments section, the two fathers received compliments on the changes in his appearance and birthday wishes. “You’re still the most handsome man you’ve ever had,” one wrote. “This is wisdom, maturity, and realizing what really matters in this precious life,” added another.

Before his dramatic hair change, Sutter embraced his gray roots and a long crew. When he made his television debut with The Bachelorette in 2003, and during that time he married leading star Trista Sutter (who celebrated his wedding anniversary last December 21st), he was known for his photos of a bangs brunette. He later rocked his hairstyle near the buzz cut, but his current appearance appears to be his shortest.

The two have been married for over 20 years, but Sutter has been known for posting mysterious posts on social media in recent years. In May 2024, he shared a lengthy response to a Mother’s Day Instagram post about Trista’s disappearance, which was filming special forces at the time.

“It was suggested that Trista has passed away, that we are in trouble, or that it must be a midlife crisis among many other creative ideas. Did some people think that they were intentionally misleading people to benefit in some way from it?” he wrote. “It was featured on entertainment news sites and started receiving texts from friends. I asked if it was okay because I missed my wife and chose to share how it felt.”

He also wrote, “I lost track of the safety of the usual dog theme and chose to post a message in an age when my wife could finally read it.” “She understood the context, so I did that too. But no one else did. That’s where things lie down.”
