Rather than miss a call from Bill Murray, Ryan Reynolds chose to throw an F-bomb at his wife, Blake Lively.
The “Deadpool” actor recalled leaving Murray “40 Messages” during his Thursday appearance in the film in New Jersey, in an attempt to get Murray to participate in the documentary “John Candy: I Like Me,” according to the Daily Mail.
Reynolds, 48, finally got the iconic actor’s phone number from “Friends of a Friend,” leaving a voicemail requesting the opportunity to choose “(Murray’s) brain” for the life of late comedian John Candy. “I’ll come to you. I’ll do whatever it takes,” he recalls saying in the message.
The “Free Man” actor then found himself thriving at the 38-year-old due to the formal event. “I’m there with my wife and we walk and my phone makes a fuss and I see it,” Reynolds said. “Bill Murray and I say, ‘Bill Murray!’
In response, he recalled the four whispering mothers, “We have to go in!” He replied, “f-k you!”
Reynolds revealed that the “Groundhog Day” star said he had said he had returned to him about the documentary, and that he “leaved another 40 messages” in a “desperate” attempt to put together filming on the project.
The actor eventually took a different approach and created a video message as his two children attempted to deflect him.
Reynolds said he had his son issued a request for appropriate action. “I said, ‘If you say no to such a child, I don’t know what kind of monster you are,” he joked. The actor’s strategy worked, and Murray’s reply call was “two seconds later.”
“What do JC (John Candy) need?” Reynolds recalled the star asking, “What about Bob?”
Lively representatives did not immediately reply to requests for comment on the page 6 encounter.
Reynolds and Lively married in 2012 and have since welcomed two children, 10, Inez, 8, Betty, 5, Olin.
In a 2024 interview, Reynolds revealed the secrets of the success of his long-standing marriage to the “Gossip Girl” alum. “When I’m rooting for her, I know she’s rooting for me, so we’re very connected,” he told people.
The couple was spotted closing summer on a sunny boat trip earlier this month.
