Johnny Depp is the latest celebrity to be embroiled in drama surrounding Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s courtroom drama.
Documents obtained by TMZ on Thursday revealed names were removed in an August 2024 text exchange discussing an ongoing lawsuit between Lively’s husband Ryan Reynolds and talent agent Warren Zavala.
“This is the incredible ego of this man,” Zavala reportedly wrote about Baldoni. “It feels like he’s setting a trap when her truth comes to the surface while promoting the story digitally.”
“Yeah, but to be honest, if someone told a journalist the truth, his face would explode,” the “Free Guy” star responded.
Zabala responded, “I’m sure some people think so,” and pointed out that “the truth is sometimes confusing.”
“That’s why I’m worried that he’s setting a trap,” the talent agent continued. “I hope this scam is exposed. I just want to protect our downside. It’s all about the movie working. Let’s see if the noise quiets down.”
“This is all spin. I think we flamed it out,” Zavala wrote, along with a link to media reports that the stars of “Owari no Seraph” were fighting over the final cut of the film.
Reynolds then replied, “How was it for Depp?” Addressing Pirates of the Caribbean star’s infamous defamation legal battle with Amber Heard.
Zavala wrote that “in the end, we both fell out” over the incident, before slamming Baldoni as a “selfish weasel with a god complex,” and Reynolds reportedly labeling Baldoni a “human rounding error.”
The lawsuit between Depp and Heard, in which the Scissorhands star sued his ex-wife for defamation, was concluded in 2022, with Depp awarded $10.35 million in punitive damages and Heard awarded $2 million in counterclaims.
The “Aquaman” star has since relocated to Madrid, Spain, where he is raising his three children, and Depp has continued to move forward in recent years, appearing at the Cannes Film Festival and the San Sebastian Film Festival.
Representatives for Depp, Reynolds, Lively, Baldoni and Zavala did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Depps is the most recent celebrity name to appear in recently unsealed documents related to the Lively-Baldoni case.
Jameela Jamil called the “Gossip Girl” alum a “suicide bomber” and “villain” in a 2024 email to a publicist obtained by the Daily Mail Thursday through court documents. A source close to the matter later told Page Six that the “Good Place” star’s comments were “unfortunate.”
Page Six also obtained texts between Lively and Taylor Swift, also from 2024, that revealed the “Oparite” hitmaker star felt distanced from Lively as the legal battle intensified.
In it, Swift called Baldoni a “bitch” with a “little violin,” but a source told Page Six that the pop megastar has not been in contact with Baldoni since their text message exchange.
Feud speculation between the movie stars began in August 2024, with Lively ultimately suing Baldoni in December 2024 for alleged sexual harassment on set.
Baldoni vehemently denied the allegations and filed a $400 million countersuit against Lively and Reynolds, but a judge dismissed the case in June 2025.
