Ryan Reynolds has some concerns about having a son.
The Deadpool & Wolverine star, 48, revealed on the Oct. 9 episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers that things have changed at home since he and wife Blake Lively welcomed son Orrin, 2.
“We live in an environment where we don’t have anything violent in our home,” Reynolds said. “There’s nothing creepy about it.[But Orin]came out with three things in mind: violence, breasts, and engines.”
“I really don’t understand where this is coming from,” he continued. “If I had three boys to start with, I would never do that. No way. I would give myself a punch vasectomy. Just like that, I can’t let that happen.”
The actor, who is also father to daughters James, 10, Ines, nine, and Betty, six, said it was “very easy” to deal with “the three girls” compared to the boys, who “had to break everything”.

“Do the girls collectively feel that your addition of a boy to your family is a personnel issue?” host Seth Meyers asked, to which he replied, “I think so.”
“I’m kind of in direct competition with this young man,” he joked. “No, he is. I’m the youngest of four boys. And I love my mother, you know as much as I really do. My father, well, but my mother really does.”
“So, like when I was eight years old, I’m not making this up. I knew how to patch drywall,” he explained. “That just says a lot. Like I literally knew how to fix an entire wall and was able to fix it in less than six minutes before my dad got home perfect. Like the spots, the sand, the paint, we’re fine.”
Reynolds went on to reminisce about her childhood growing up in a house full of boys. The Deadpool actor was the youngest of four sons, Jeff, Jerry, and Patrick, with parents Tammy Reynolds and father James “Jim” Chester Reynolds.

“Do you know how many times my brothers made me leave the room without going through the door?” the IF actor asked. “I was a moving target for them to use. Officers, that was my mind on what they were going to use when they got into that place with a battering ram. I was that sheep.”
Reynold has previously spoken about how becoming a father has changed him. He said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2018 that being a father “in some ways, I think it’s made me a better person.”
He called the role “a dream come true,” adding of his children: “They’re the best. They’re my buddies. I love them.”
