Will Ryan Reynolds return as Deadpool in “Avengers: The End”? This is a question that the actor himself ignited online after posting on social media in August. Marvel fans are in a frenzy. There have been rumours that Reynolds and Robert Downey Jr. are rebutting the set as the villain Doctor Doom, Grand Marvel’s return in “The End.”
It’s not that fast. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Reynolds claimed he hadn’t stepped into the “Avengers: Doom Day” set. The actor was promoting the documentary “John Candy: I Like Me,” where he was a producer. The document reveals that Reynolds has Easter eggs about candy scattered across “Deadpool,” “Deadpool 2,” and “Deadpool and Wolverine.” When asked if he was doing the same thing in “Avengers: Endgame,” Reynolds didn’t laugh at the question.
“There are four I have there,” joked Reynolds. “Of course I write them at home on PJ, but no one has seen them or stepped into the set. But yeah, that’s as long as I go to it.”
Reynolds’ Deadpool entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his smash hit “Deadpool and Wolverine” last summer. The film marked Channing Tatum’s surprise debut as a gambit. Some fans thought (plus Reynolds’ social media post) meant that Deadpool would be given to join the superhero mashup, but Reynolds hasn’t let anything slip for now.
The alleged rumors of a feud between Downey and Reynolds were quickly crushed by outlets like People Magazine. Another insider said, “The two have never met in person.”
“Avengers: Doomsday” is scheduled to be released on December 18th, 2026 by Disney and Marvel Studios.
