For fans, everything they know about Running Point Season 2 is here.
What is Running Point Season 2?
Season 1, premiering on February 27th, follows Los Angeles executive Isla Gordon (Hudson). The family business is the Wave of Los Angeles, one of the nation’s most popular basketball franchises.
“I’m keen to jump into comedy with the team I admire, and the role offered a fresh challenge and was hilarious and engaging from the start,” Hudson told Tudum in an interview when the news was announced. “The opportunity to work with people that I respect and bring a unique female perspective to a male-led world has been incredibly fascinating.”
There are no details yet on the exact plot for Season 2, but the comedy so far is based on the life of Jeannie Bass, the president and co-owner of the Lakers, the series’ executive producer.
“I knew Jeannie since I was a teenager, so I felt a unique connection with the character,” Hudson said. “Genie’s life and career in a world dominated by professional basketball men was inspiring and released her desire to explore a comedic version of that world. Genie’s openness and sense of humor allowed her to push boundaries and enjoy herself with her characters.
