Robert Redford’s grandson paid tribute to the late actor after his death Tuesday by sharing a photo he had never seen before on social media.
Conor Schlosser – the son of Redford’s eldest son, Shauna Redford – posted a carousel of “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” star and special moments on Instagram.
“He was bigger than the world than life, but for his family, he was simply that… family. Rest in peace, Grandpa.”
“If anyone has his favorite stories, all you want to share is send it to me in a private message. I want to collect them,” added Schlosser.
In one of the pictures, a much younger Schlosser sat on a brown horse with Robert. In another snap, Schlosser was sitting in a recliner with the Oscar winner when he opened his Christmas present.
Schlosser also shared a recent photo with Robert. These include one of the people sitting at the dinner table and one photographer with his arms around his arms.
Lena Redford, daughter of Robert’s late son James Redford, also honored her grandfather on Instagram.
“❤§,” she captioned the post. This included several photos of her throwbacks with the “indecent proposal” actor.
Lena’s brother, Dylan Redford, wrote in his Instagram story that Robert is “the best grandpa that grandchildren can seek.”
“He tried to make amazing things, help others create amazing things, and make the world a better place,” the 34-year-old added.
Robert’s representative announced on Tuesday that the actor had passed away. He was 89 years old.
“Robert Redford passed away on September 16, 2025 at his home in Sundance in the mountains of Utah. Surrounded by the places he loved, the people he loved,” a spokesman told Page 6.
“He’s going to be overlooked a lot. The family demands privacy.”
The New York Times reported that Robert had died of sleep. However, the official cause of death of the “Horse Whisper” star has not been revealed.
The environmentalists were survived by his wife Cibilel Cigars, whom he married in 2009, two children, Shauna, 64, and Amy Redford, 54.
86-year-old Robert and Weigenen also shared their two sons. Scott died of sudden infant death syndrome at two months old. James succumbed to liver cancer in 2020.
