Robert Pattinson has made a rare comment about his daughter, admitting that he “wasn’t my kids’ biggest fan” before becoming a father.
“I didn’t care about them. I tolerate them,” Pattinson told GQ in an interview published on January 23.
However, things have been different for the ‘Twilight’ star since he became a father, declaring that being a dad is the ‘most fun thing’.
“I think it’s really great,” he said.
As for the challenges of parenting, the Harry Potter actor, 39, claimed the transition has put a greater focus on time management in his life.
“The thing is, everything is always about time management. I mean, it’s kind of obvious, but you don’t realize it until you do it,” he shared.
“Even if you’re on the other side of the world, you’re like, ‘Okay, I can’t be away for more than 10 days.’ After being away for 10 days, my body started hurting. It’s very interesting, and it changes your body chemistry without you even realizing it.”
Although his child is still a toddler, Pattinson said he’s already “watching a lot” of his and Suki’s projects.
The actor emphasized that instead of watching traditional children’s programming, young children are tuning in to his sci-fi movie “Mickey 17.”
But he joked that he was “not getting any respect” because his daughter, whose name has not yet been released, did not fully understand what was being shown on screen.
Pattinson was spotted out and about in Los Angeles pushing a stroller and revealed that he and his longtime partner are expecting their first child in March 2024.
The actor hasn’t talked much about his daughter publicly. However, he spoke briefly about his experience as a father, admitting that he felt “so old” after becoming a father.
“(Having a baby) makes me feel so old and so young at the same time,” the actor said.
