Robert Irwin is working on a new “passion project” following his Dancing with the Stars win.
The 22-year-old wildlife conservationist announced on Instagram on Tuesday, December 2, that he will be “coming home” to work at Australia Zoo’s Crocodile Hunter Lodge, which opens in 2022.
“This is a very passionate project that we have been working on,” he said as videos and images of the lodge were shown. He added that the venue is “a way to really properly welcome you into our home.”
Ms Irwin thanked the “incredible” support she had received in the US and said it was “really gratifying” to see people visiting Australia Zoo.
“Honestly, we wanted to create something where everyone would have a proper home away from home when they visit us,” he added.

This luxury lodge is located within the Australia Zoo, offering visitors sweeping views of the bushland and native wildlife. This lodge was developed to honor Steve’s legacy and love of animals.
Terry Irwin, 61, previously told PEOPLE that Steve Irwin was planning a property where people could experience Australia’s wildlife in such an intimate way.

In addition to rustic cabins, the lodge features lush gardens, a warrior restaurant, an outdoor dining area, and an infinity pool, all surrounded by a variety of biological habitats. Each guest receives unlimited admission to Australia Zoo and complimentary breakfast.
The lodge is environmentally friendly as recycled materials are used in its construction and continues Steve’s mission to lead conservation efforts around the world.
“Here at the lodge, we are completely immersed in everything the zoo is about,” Irwin said in a video Tuesday. “It’s not just about having one-on-one experiences with wildlife, it’s about contributing to their conservation. After all, that’s what we’re all about.”
“I hope you all come visit me at my house soon,” he concluded.
