CMA and ACM award winner Riley Green heads to Montana. The singer will guest star in the upcoming “Yellowstone” spinoff “Marshalls,” appearing in multiple episodes.
“I’m so excited to join the cast of ‘Marshall’ and being on set with my buddy Luke Grimes made the experience even more memorable,” Green said in a statement. “This is my first foray into the world of acting and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to this world.”
Greene plays Garrett, a former Navy SEAL who unexpectedly arrives at the ranch to ask his friends Casey Dutton (Luke Grimes) and Cal (Logan Marshall Greene) to help him “quell the demons of his past.”
According to the official logline for the CBS “Yellowstone” spinoff, “Casey Dutton joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals against the backdrop of the Yellowstone Ranch, combining his skills as a cowboy and a Navy SEAL to bring range of justice to Montana. There, he and his teammates must balance family, duty, and the high psychological costs that come with their role as the last line of defense in a war against local violence.”
Dutton’s teammates also include Bel Skinner (Ariel Kebbell), Andrea Cruz (Ash Santos) and Myles Kittle (Tatanka Means). Brecken Merrill plays his son Tate, and Moe Brings Plenty and Gil Birmingham play his friends from the Broken Rock Reservation.
“The Marshalls” is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios. Taylor Sheridan, David Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Spencer Hudnutt, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yali, Michael Friedman, Greg Yaitanes, and Grimes serve as executive producers.
“Marshalls” premieres Sunday, March 1st at 9pm ET on CBS.
