A disgruntled fan threw a phone at Riley Green on stage, leaving her bleeding.
The country star was caught off guard during a performance at Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne, Australia, when a cell phone was suddenly thrown at him by the crowd, clipping his ear, according to a video posted on social media.
Shocked, Green paused the show and asked staff to turn on the lights in the house to identify the pitcher. With the help of the crowd, Green pointed at the fans and kicked them out of the show.
“This here? Get his fat out of here. Go on,” Green said.
After fans were removed from the arena, Green was unaware of the injury but thanked the fans for their support.
“While I have your attention, I would like to take a moment and thank each and every one of you for coming tonight,” he said. “Wait, am I bleeding? Guys, do you have any idea how tough I am? Thank God he didn’t have an iPhone 12. It would have really hurt if he did.”
After the show, Green updated fans on social media.
“5 stitches…stitches,” he wrote on his Instagram Story, along with a photo of his injuries.
Earlier this month, Green spoke to Fox News Digital about why he prefers life in Alabama over pursuing his career in Tennessee.
“I feel like there’s every reason to move to Nashville, but I never thought about it. I love my farm in Alabama, and that’s where I draw all the inspiration for my songs,” he said.
Green added: “Life moves much more slowly there.”
“When I have time off and I’m on the farm, I try to do as little as possible,” Green said. “But (I) definitely get on the tractor and clean up a little bit. And I let Pop out to help work on the farm. We have a lot of animals and dogs and we’re kind of laid back.”
Green will make his acting debut in the Yellowstone spinoff, The Marshalls, starring Luke Grimes.
Speaking to FOX News Digital at the premiere, Green said stepping onto set for the first time was nerve-wracking and nothing compared to being on stage.
“Oh, I was more nervous. I don’t get nervous going on stage anymore. I’ve done enough shows so that’s natural, but this was a completely different world. And it wasn’t my set, it wasn’t my stage. I was kind of the new guy in that bunch. So it was definitely nerve-wracking,” he said.
