Rihanna wore a floral headpiece off the Dior runway.
Creative director Jonathan Anderson made his haute couture debut for the French fashion house in Paris on Monday, showing a stunning collection filled with layered ruffles, voluminous silhouettes and floral styling pieces.
Just hours after models showed off carved cyclamen headdresses in various shades of pink and purple, Rihanna was spotted adding it to her jeans and T-shirt look.
After attending a show earlier in the day in a sheer black polka-dot dress layered over a double-breasted tuxedo coat, Bad Gal headed to the brand’s afterparty in a more casual (yet couture) ensemble.
She wore a white fur stole wrapped around her middle, layered with a floral belt, black sunglasses, and two necklaces. One was double wrapped with beads, and the other was a diamond and pearl pendant.
Just like earlier in the day, she wore her hair in an intricate updo and flaunted high-fashion earmuffs.
The flower was created by milliner Stephen Jones, who has worked with the brand for 30 years, and was actually a sweet tribute to one of Anderson’s predecessors, John Galliano, who reigned from 1997 to 2011.
Anderson wrote on Instagram: “Right before my first women’s show at @dior last year, the first people I wanted to show my collection to were @jgalliano and @lexyroche. John was so kind to bring two bouquets of cyclamen tied with black silk ribbon, and a bag of Tesco cake and goodies for the team.”
He continued, “They were the most beautiful flowers I had ever seen, so I thought of this as a starting point so everyone could receive the same bouquet that I received.”
Guido, the show’s hairstylist, added: “Flowers in your hair always represent romance, but the way they’re placed in front of your face is what makes it modern.”
