Richard Gere gushed about the young actor’s blossoming career, revealing he has yet to see his son Homer’s lewd Euphoria sex scene with Sidney Sweeney.
“I still need to see the second episode of ‘Euphoria,'” the “Pretty Woman” star told People magazine in an interview published Monday, referring to the Season 3 episode in which Homer’s Dylan Reed has a heated exchange with Kathy Howard’s Sweeney.
“I’m proud of him on two levels,” Geer said of the 26-year-old. “He really supernaturally knows what he’s doing. But he copes with it very well.”
The actor, who has a son with ex-wife Carey Lowell, described Homer as a “good kid” and “a really nice young man who understands.”
“This is not an easy job. Not everyone can function in it. So I think he can stay,” said Gere, 76.
He also praised his son’s upcoming Ryan Murphy-produced show, “The Shahs,” and his film with director Oliver Stone.
“So you can retire now. Pass the torch,” the “Jackal” star joked.
Homer made his debut in season 3 of Euphoria, appearing in two episodes as Sweeney, a Hollywood movie star who rises to fame as an OnlyFans model.
Homer’s second appearance in the series involves Cassie befriending her in order to win back her supporters after impulsively deleting her account.
During the steamy scene, the pair smashed a bed and knocked a painting off the wall.
Once the conversation was over, Cassie grabbed Dylan’s phone and shared a photo of the two of them in bed, captioning it: “Best fucker in the world @itsjustmecassie.” The next day, the post went viral.
“Euphoria” was Homer’s big break, and his next role was as Robert Mallory in “The Shahs.”
Prior to that, he appeared in various short films and in Hatoum’s “Hunting Days” music video in 2024.
Homer previously revealed on Entertainment Tonight in April that Gere received words of wisdom from his father that made him reflect on the way he lived his life.
Additionally, the “Chicago” star inspired Homer to think about how to make his art “work in a positive way.”
