RHOP stars Wendy and Eddie Osefo accused of using 40 credit cards under false names

“The Real Housewives of Potomac” star Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband Eddie Osefo are accused of having 40 credit and debit cards and using false names to conceal their identities.

The Baltimore Banner reported Thursday that prosecutors are seeking additional financial records from the couple, believing they “demonstrate a pattern of excessive spending” and support a “motive” in a criminal fraud case stemming from a reported home robbery.

In newly filed court documents obtained by The Baltimore Banner, prosecutors allege that the Ocefoss “have approximately 40 credit and debit cards in their possession, some of which are believed to be in the company’s name.”

Prosecutors also claimed the two used the names “Pam Oliver” and “Eddie Hennessy” in a “deliberate attempt to conceal their identities.”

Additionally, prosecutors alleged that Wendy falsely denied using PayPal, Venmo, and Cash App to pay for the jewelry.

“The State expects that financial records will record purchases and proceeds. Additionally, the State expects such documentation to demonstrate a pattern of excessive spending and support motive in this case,” prosecutors wrote.

“The State abhors insurance fraud as a financial crime, and in that regard, the amount of debt owed by the Osefos collectively, individually, and by the businesses they own is highly relevant to their motives.”

However, the Osefos family’s lawyers said: “The Osefos family has never used a false name on any financial application. This claim is false and misleading. Such a name was used to deliver the package after a legal purchase, in order to protect the identity of a very public figure.”

“What is most worrying is that the state appears to have opened an investigation only after indicting Osefos, a highly irregular approach that raises serious concerns about motives and impartiality,” they added.

Lawyers for the Osefo family believe prosecutors are “fishing” and are asking for the subpoena to be rescinded.

They also feel the bank records request is too broad and oddly timed.

The lawyer argued that prosecutors were “looking for something we didn’t know after 18 months of investigation,” and that authorities had not spoken to Mr. and Mrs. Osefo, both 41, “from the time of the break-in until the criminal charges were filed.”

The judge overseeing the case said he would address the dispute at a status hearing Dec. 2.

The Bravolbreezes were arrested last month on suspicion of robbing their home in Finksburg, Maryland, in April 2024 with intent to claim losses.

Wendy, a university professor and political commentator, was indicted on 16 charges, including seven felony counts of insurance fraud, eight misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and one misdemeanor count of making false statements to a police officer.

Eddy, an attorney and entrepreneur, was charged with 18 charges including nine felony counts of insurance fraud, eight misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and one misdemeanor count of making false statements to a police officer.

Shortly after their arrests made headlines, their attorney told Page Six, in part, “The Osefos look forward to their day in court with their defense team.”

And at BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas over the weekend, Wendy called the legal conflict an “unfortunate situation.”

“I can’t say too much right now,” she told the audience at the “RHOP” cast panel. “But when the time is right, I’m going to share my story with you all.”

“Right now, they are just suspicions,” the mother of three stressed.
