‘RHOP’ star Wendy Osefo demands fraud charges dropped after ‘wrongful arrest’

Dr. Wendy Osefo has requested that her fraud charges be dropped in a recent filing.

The “Real Housewives of Potomac” star, who was arrested with husband Eddie Osefo on Oct. 9, accused police of “wrongful arrest” the following week in court documents obtained by Us Weekly.

On Oct. 17, the 41-year-old Bravolebrity not only claimed that “the charging documents were flawed,” but that “all evidence should be suppressed due to an illegal search or seizure.”

Wendy made similar requests for wire and oral communications on suspicion of “unlawful interception,” and also argued that “unlawfully obtained … confessions, statements, and admissions” should not be admitted into evidence.

She referred to Eddy’s charges and demanded that “the trial of the co-defendant be separated from the trial of this defendant.”

In a separate filing, Wendy’s lawyers asked prosecutors for all suspect evidence, a list of witnesses, polygraph results of witnesses, names of confidential informants and copies of police reports.

Wendy and Eddie, 41, spent the night in Maryland’s Carroll County Detention Center earlier this month and were later released on a combined $100,000 bond.

The reality star was charged with 16 charges, including seven felony counts of insurance fraud, eight misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and one misdemeanor count of making false statements to a police officer.

Her partner was also charged with similar charges, as well as two additional felony counts of insurance fraud.

The charges date back to a 2024 residential burglary, and the couple claimed to their insurance company that they suffered $450,000 in property loss and $2,500 in property damage.

However, investigators found that many of the items the men claimed to have stolen had been returned for refund before the alleged robbery, raising questions about whether the robbery took place in the first place.

Wendy was also caught on camera wearing one of the rings she claimed was stolen.

At the time, Wendy and Eddie were “deeply in debt.”

Representatives for the couple recently told Page Six that Wendy and Osefo are “in good spirits” and “looking forward to their day in court.”

Wendy broke her silence via social media over the weekend.

“And no matter what, God remains faithful,” she wrote Sunday. “Thank you for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers for myself and most importantly my family during this time. We will be forever grateful 🙏🏾.”

The political commentator concluded by encouraging fans to watch that night’s episode of “RHOP.”

Eddie posted a Bible verse that says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6”
