Dr. Wendy Osefo has broken her silence on social media after she and her husband Edward “Eddie” Osefo were arrested on fraud charges.
The “Real Housewives of Potomac” star posted two photos of herself on Instagram on Sunday modeling a long black dress that featured a plunging neckline.
“And no matter what, God remains faithful,” she captioned the photo.
“Thank you for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers for myself and most importantly my family during this time. We will be forever grateful 🙏🏾.”
Wendy concluded her message by asking fans to “watch a new episode tonight on @bravotv” of the reality show.
Fans were quick to cheer up the mother-of-three, commenting, “Hey Wendy!! Keep shining! You’re not going anywhere!! 👏🏾,” “❤️❤️❤️ I love you and will always be with you and praying for you,” and “My Seaesta 🗣️ Said it anyway! 😭❤️.”
Eddie uploaded a family portrait to his Instagram with the caption: “‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In every way acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.'” Proverbs 3:5-6”
Wendy and Eddie, both 41, were arrested earlier this month and charged with numerous fraud charges. They spent the night in Maryland’s Carroll County Detention Center and were released the next day after posting bail totaling $100,000.
Wendy was indicted on 16 charges including seven felonies of insurance fraud, eight misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and one misdemeanor count of making false statements to a police officer.
Eddie was indicted on a total of 18 charges: nine felonies of insurance fraud, eight misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and one misdemeanor count of making false statements to a police officer.
The charges stem from a home invasion reported by the couple in April 2024, when they claimed Wendy’s jewelry and designer bags were stolen while they were on a family vacation in Jamaica with their three young children.
Eddie then allegedly filed insurance claims with two different insurance companies, with both he and Wendy signing statements claiming $450,000 in property damage and $2,500 in property damage.
Over the course of the investigation, authorities began to question the legitimacy of the robbery itself, a sentiment that Osefos’ neighbors reportedly felt immediately.
Wendy was also photographed wearing one of the rings that was allegedly stolen shortly after the theft was reported.
Additionally, an investigation revealed that numerous items she and Eddie claimed were stolen had been returned with full refunds prior to the alleged robbery.
Authorities also discovered that the two were “in significant debt” at the time.
Hours after their arrests made headlines, their representatives released a statement to Page Six saying they were “home safe and well with their families.”
Their attorney added: “We look forward to our day in court.”
Following this news, detectives noticed that Wendy and Eddie had mentioned Bonnie and Clyde on Instagram the day they reported the alleged robbery.
