Real Housewives of Potomac member Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband Eddie Osefo have been arrested and charged with fraud.
The reality star, 41, and her husband are facing 16 charges, seven of which are felonies related to charges of “false/misleading information fraud” over $300, Westminster police confirmed to PEOPLE.
The two were booked in Westminster, Maryland, on Thursday, October 9th. TMZ was first to report the news.
Police said the couple claimed designer bags and jewelry were missing from their bedroom during a robbery reported in Jamaica in April 2024, but Wendy was allegedly seen wearing one of the diamond rings in subsequent social media posts.

A police investigation revealed that other items allegedly stolen were also purchased, returned to their respective stores, and “full refunds were issued prior to the alleged robbery.”
In prosecutors’ bail recommendation documents obtained by TMZ, prosecutors claim the couple claimed $450,000 in personal property losses through their insurance company.
Representatives for Mr. Osefo and Mr. Bravo did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on Friday, Oct. 10.

Osefo joined RHOP in Season 5 and will appear on Bravo’s new series Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition, which premieres on October 14th.
She and Eddie share Carter, 12, Cruz, 10, and Camryn, 6, and celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary in August. At the time, Wendy reflected on their more than 10 years of marriage in a heartfelt post on Instagram.
“14 years 💍 We did the work and in prayer God did the rest,” Wendy wrote at the time. “We have built a life that will outlive us, and for that I am forever grateful.”
“If given the chance, I would choose you in this life and the next,” the post continued. “It’s an honor to call you my best friend and an honor to take your last name. Happy 14th anniversary, my love. Cheers to eternity 🥂✨ #TeamOsefo.”

In his eulogy, Eddie added that she was his “best friend, life partner, pro bono therapist, hype woman, and everything in between.”

Wendy is a former professor at John Hopkins University and a regular contributor to various cable news channels. After earning a bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees, Osefo became the first black woman to earn a doctorate in public affairs and community development from Rutgers University (Camden).
Eddie is a lawyer and the founder and CEO of the cannabis brand Happy Eddie.
