“Real Housewives of Potomac” alum Mia Thornton celebrates her 41st birthday and breaks her silence following her recent felony theft arrest.
The reality TV star shared a series of photos to her Instagram on Tuesday to mark the occasion, telling her followers that “challenges don’t define me” as she reflected on her life goals for the coming year.
“Calm over chaos. Grace over noise. On this birthday, I always choose harmony, height, and grace,” she captioned a black-and-white photo of herself seated on a piano.
“This past week has reminded me of the importance of staying grounded, especially when life feels noisy. I’m entering a new year with clarity, responsibility, and gratitude. Challenges don’t define me, but how I rebuild.”
She followed up the post with a photo of herself.
“Sophisticated. Unwavering. Unwavering. I will not break. I will be better. Happy birthday,” she wrote.
“In the midst of unexpected moments, I am remembering who I am: a mother, a creator, and a woman evolving in real time. I am choosing peace, responsibility, and personal growth. Thank you to those who continue to support my journey.”
Thornton made headlines last Wednesday when he was arrested on grand theft charges in Georgia after allegedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of furniture from a luxury condominium he was renting.
Police at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport reportedly arrested the Bravolebrity after being called to Customs and Border Protection as a wanted person, according to CBS News. She was later booked into the Fulton County Jail.
According to a police report obtained by the outlet, Thornton is accused of taking several pieces of furniture and a television from a condominium he was renting in the area. The condominium manager estimated the total value of the stolen items at approximately $11,000.
The manager also claimed that Thornton suddenly “walked out of the unit in the middle of the night” without notice on October 28.
Court documents later revealed that Thornton and her ex-boyfriend and roommate Jared McGriff were sued for eviction on September 11 by Company Encore Management, which owns the luxury condominium they were renting.
The documents say the two rented a property and “failed to pay rent” on a room in Atlanta.
The management company asked the two to move out and asked them to pay $5,100 in back rent for September and $6,085 per month until the judgment date.
