“Real Housewives of Orange County” alum Lynne Curtin’s daughter Alexa says the isolation she felt while filming the reality show “Bravo” led her down a path to drug addiction and homelessness.
“I started using drugs right after I graduated from high school,” Alexa explained in a new interview, saying negative portrayals of her family “led her to drugs.”
“To have it played out in public like this… it was really hard for me because all my friends at school were watching it and it really didn’t look very good on me,” she told the Daily Mail last week.
“I was really young at the time,” the 33-year-old continued. “At such a young age, it seems like a really critical time to paint someone, especially a minor, in the wrong way.”
She said her addiction “snowballed and got worse” when she started using drugs immediately after high school and after “binge drinking.”
“Then we switched from pills to hard drugs,” Alexa recalled, adding that the 15 years since her family appeared on the reality show have been “beyond scary.”
“I’m here and I’m alive, but I don’t want to be alive,” she admitted heartbreakingly. “I’m not trying to get anyone’s attention. I’m being tortured. This is a cry for help.”
Lynn and her family appeared on seasons 4 and 5 of “RHOC” from 2008 to 2010, when Alexa was 15 to 17 years old. Her rebellious behavior, including sneaking out, drinking alcohol, and ignoring curfew, was highlighted on the show.
Alexa’s most traumatic moment was filming herself and her older sister Raquel being served eviction papers at their parents’ home while their parents were away.
Alexa said of the incident, “I don’t really talk about it, I don’t even try to think about it (on the show).”
Shortly after the eviction, Lin filed for divorce from Alexa’s father, Frank Curtin. The divorce has not been finalized yet.
When asked if she had a message for her parents, Alexa sadly replied, “I don’t even have them anymore,” adding that the last time she spoke to her mother was in 2019 when they had an argument over a car.
Page Six has reached out to Lynne for comment.
According to the outlet, Alexa now relies on fellow addicts in the community and spends most of her time in motels known for drugs and prostitution.
“I’ve destroyed my life, I’ve destroyed my future. I don’t really care because I’m just going to continue doing the devil’s dance,” she said.
Alexa has been in and out of prison for years on drug-related charges.
Earlier this month, Alexa’s YouTube interview went viral, detailing the horrors of life on the streets of Los Angeles.
“A lot of bad things have happened to me since I moved here,” she told “LA To You Int.” A YouTube channel for a gas station in crime-ridden Lancaster, California.
Alexa said her hair is disheveled, her teeth are chipped and she lost two fingers in a car accident due to her drug use.
She also detailed the time she was allegedly sexually assaulted.
“I was in a really bad situation, a guy handcuffed me, I tried to break the window with my head, but I couldn’t, and he covered my mouth, I covered my nose, I couldn’t breathe, and he raped me for about two hours,” she said.
“I don’t have anything,” Alexa continued. “We literally have to start from scratch. It’s going to be difficult, but we’re actively working on it.”
The channel produced Alexa’s follow-up video a week later, in which she admitted that she missed her mother and sister Raquel “a lot.”
“I was really involved with my family. I used to come to them every year for things like Christmas. So after this holiday, I’m reminded of how much I love my mom and dad.”
