Rhea Seehorn won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Drama for her role as Carol Starker in Apple TV’s Pluribus. This is her first Globe nomination and win.

Seehorn seemed overcome with emotion as she took to the stage to accept her award. She looked at a piece of paper and said, “In the lecture, it said to prescribe beta-blockers, but they didn’t prescribe them. I’m sorry! I’ll do my best. I’m sorry, I’m a little shocked!” And before she began her speech, she turned to one of the award presenters and said: “Queen Latifah, I met you about 20 years ago while I was away working at Ku Ku Lu and you were so kind, thank you!”

Seehorn recognized all the nominees by name and praised their performance. “The truth is, ladies in this room, I’ve been to a lot of parties, and for someone like me, it can be pretty scary sometimes,” she added, referring to the long string of events that celebrities attend during awards season. “And the women in this room have been amazing these past few weeks. Thank you,” she said.

At the end of her speech, after thanking Pluribus creator Vince Gilligan and other collaborators, friends and family, she said:

Seehorn is beloved for her role as Kim Wexler on the “Breaking Bad” spinoff “Better Call Saul,” which aired on AMC for six seasons from 2015 to 2022. For this role, she received three Critics Circle Awards and two Emmy Awards, as well as a nomination for Best Actress as part of the show’s ensemble. She won the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series for “Pluribus.”

Also nominated for this year’s Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Drama are Kathy Bates (Matlock), Britt Lauer (Severance), Helen Mirren (Mobland), Vera Ramsey (The Last of Us), and Keri Russell (The Diplomat).

“Pluribus” was also nominated for Best Television Drama.
