Microdrama platform ReelShort is entering Southeast Asia through a partnership with Advanced Info Service (AIS), Thailand’s leading 5G network provider, leveraging the country as a strategic base for broader expansion across the region.

The co-branded 5G ReelShort add-on package is priced at THB39 ($1.15) per month compared to the platform’s standard price of THB599 ($17.50) and provides AIS prepaid and postpaid subscribers with full VIP access to the ReelShort library with no ads, daily episode releases, and bundled 5G connectivity. This agreement marks ReelShort’s first telco partnership in Southeast Asia.

ReelShort arrived in Thailand with a library of nearly 3,000 titles, including romances, CEO dramas, Chinese series, and plot twists. Titles such as “Bound By Honor,” “True Heiress vs. Fake Queen Bee,” and “Move Aside! I’m the Final Boss” have each amassed hundreds of millions of views on the platform. Access to Thai is already great, with around 300 fully dubbed titles and over 1,000 titles with Thai subtitles.

Joey Jia, CEO of Crazy Maple Studio, which owns ReelShort, described Southeast Asia as “one of the most exciting and competitive mobile entertainment markets in the world” and said the partnership with AIS will bring the platform’s mobile-first storytelling to millions of Thai consumers. “Thailand is just the beginning of ReelShort’s broader regional expansion strategy,” added Jia.

Lerchai Kodsap, chief mobile business officer at AIS, said the deal reflects the carrier’s efforts to unify network infrastructure and content. “ReelShort is a global leader in the vertical short drama market,” Kodsup said, pointing to the platform’s catalog of more than 2,700 vertical series with Thai subtitles and dubbing. He said the partnership will give AIS customers access to world-class content “tailored to modern lifestyles that demand fast, easy-to-view entertainment anytime, anywhere.”

The launch will be accompanied by Reel Short’s largest two-month national marketing campaign in Southeast Asia, leveraging influencer partnerships, co-advertisements, digital outreach and in-store promotions to drive awareness across Thailand.

This agreement is also the first completed transaction since AR Asia Productions was appointed as ReelShort’s exclusive distributor in the region.

Crazy Maple Studio is headquartered in Silicon Valley. AIS serves more than 52 million customers in Thailand, including 46.8 million on its 5G mobile network.
