Principal photography has begun on director Elise Finnerty’s horror feature “White Sands” in the Hamptons.
The film, which is being filmed in Amagansett, New York, also stars Rebecca Knox (Orange Is the New Black), Cary Ronayne (The Resident, The Right Stuff), Marta Pozzan (Fior, Di Latte, Jacob the Baker), Jessica Sula (Split, Skins), and Robbie Attal (Dexter). ), Tyler Alvarez (American Vandal, Never Have I Ever), David H. Holmes (High Fidelity, The Penguin), Jean Louisa Kelly (Top Gun: Maverick, Uncle Buck).
The film’s official synopsis reads: “White Sands follows Cora (Knox), an aspiring food blogger, as she and her boyfriend Josh (Holmes) spend a beachside birthday weekend at the boutique Seaside Motel, hosted by influencer Alex (Ronane).
“When Josh is called away, Cora stays behind and becomes dangerously attached to Alex and his exclusive circle, a fascinating but fractured group that includes Ella (Pozan), Carlos (Alvarez), Robbie (Attal), and Lily (Sula). As the weekend progresses, Cora’s obsession takes a terrifying turn as sinister forces tied to the motel’s occult history begin to surface.”
Finnerty will direct from a script by Michael Harker and Knox. The film will be produced by Ian Adelson and RJ Brown of Floor 1 Productions, along with Lucy Loewenberg, Michael Harker and Knox.
Finnerty made his feature debut in 2022’s The Ones You Didn’t Burn, which he wrote, directed and starred in, and premiered at London’s Frightfest. It is currently streaming on the AMC platform Shudder.
