Rebecca Gayheart and her A-list boyfriend Peter Morton quietly split last year, sources tell Page Six, before her husband Eric Dane passed away.
Gayheart and Hard Rock Café founder Morton were first linked in 2023 when they were photographed on a double date with model Claudia Schiffer and her husband Matthew Vaughn in LA.
According to sources, the two broke up almost a year ago in April 2025.
The pair were last seen holding hands and kissing on the lips as they left E-Baldi in Beverly Hills, California, in December.
According to sources, despite appearances, it wasn’t a date. I heard that the two bumped into each other and eventually caught up.
“They are still friendly,” the source said.
Morton’s father is Ernie Morton, founder of the Morton’s Steakhouse chain.
He and his partners sold their stake in the Hard Rock Café restaurant to Rank Organization in 1996 for $410 million. In May 2006, he and his partners sold the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas to Morgan’s Hotel Group of Companies for $770 million.
He was previously married to Pauline Stone and Tarleton Pauley. He also had a relationship with Linda Evangalista.
The Morton family is successful. His late son Harry was the owner of the Viper Room and founded Pink Octopus. Son Matthew founded the popular Cha Cha Matcha, and daughter Grace works at Taylor Sheridan’s Bosk Ranch Productions as vice president of production and development.
Gayheart was married to Eric Dane from 2004 until his death from ALS in February.
The two separated and Gayheart filed for divorce in 2018. Following Dane’s diagnosis, Gayheart rejected her divorce application in March last year.
“Eric knows that I always want the best for him,” she wrote on The Cut in December. “I’m going to do my best to do the right thing for him, and I know he’ll do the same for me. So anything I can do, anything I can do to make this journey better for him or easier for him, I want to do it.”
“We want to make the most of the time he has now,” Gayheart wrote. “He has made it clear that he wants to spend as much time as possible with his family, and I am fully committed to facilitating that.”
