Congratulations, Carol! We love you, Carol! At tonight’s Golden Globe Awards, Rhea Seehorn won Best Actress in a Television Drama for her performance as romance writer turned world savior Carol Starker in the wildly popular new Apple TV series Pluribus. (Maybe you’ll get the next Wycaro book!)
After she took the stage, Seehorn laughed at the note she left for herself on a printout of her speech, reminding her to “get a prescription for beta blockers.” She told the audience, “But I didn’t. I’m sorry!”
The Better Call Saul actress thanked Pluribus creator Vince Gilligan for writing the role of Carol for her, saying, “Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for believing in something bigger than me. You make me want to be better every day.”

My speech says, “Get me prescribed a beta blocker.” But that wasn’t the case. sorry! I will do my best. Sorry, I’m a little shocked. I think my stomach is still there. To have your name read alongside Bella Ramsay, Britt Lauer, Helen Mirren, Kathy Bates, Keri Russell…well…your performance is amazing. I would appreciate it if you could list them together. And actually, to all the women in this room. I’ve been to a lot of parties that can be pretty scary at times for someone like me, but the ladies in this room over the past few weeks have been incredible. thank you. Speaking of pinch moments, Vince Gilligan, I still can’t find you! Are you here? Hey! Thank you, Vince Gilligan, for writing me the role of a lifetime. And more than that, thank you for believing in me. You make me want to be better every day. I really appreciate it. Thank you to all the directors, all the screenwriters, all the producers, all the beautiful cast… all the guest stars, all the amazing background artists. Thank you to all the tireless staff. They had my back every night and every time the sun rose. Thank you very much. Thank you Apple TV. Thank you Sony. It takes a whole village, so thank you to my beautiful village, my beautiful family, my sons, my partner, Graham Larson. And thank you to the Golden Globes voting body. I’m still so grateful that I was able to make a living doing this, and it’s truly amazing. thank you.
