Bad Bunny won Album of the Year for DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.
The star was nominated in multiple categories, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
He made history with his wins and nominations.
On Sunday night, Bad Bunny won the 2026 Grammy Award for Album of the Year for his latest album, DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.
Even before winning the award, the Puerto Rican rapper was already making Grammy history. In the award ceremony’s 68-year history, Bad Bunny became the first Spanish-language artist to be nominated in the Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year categories simultaneously. The AOTY award makes DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS the first all-Spanish album to win in that category.
Apart from the AOTY honor, Bad Bunny also won Best Music Urbana Album and Best Global Performance. While accepting the award for Best Musica Urbana Album, he criticized U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, telling the crowd, “Before you say thank God, I’m going to tell you to get out of ICE.” “We are not savages. We are not animals. We are not aliens. We are human beings. We are Americans,” he continued. And he said, “Hate grows stronger with more hate. The only thing stronger than hate is love. So please, we have to be different. If we’re going to fight, we have to do it with love. We don’t hate them. We love our people. We love our families. That’s how we do it. With love. Remember that. Thank you.”
Later in the night, when presenter Harry Styles announced AOTY’s name, Bad Bunny became visibly emotional and remained seated for a moment before taking the stage.
He gave his second speech of the night, primarily in Spanish. “Puerto Rico, believe me when I say we are much bigger than 100 x 35 (miles) and there is nothing we cannot accomplish,” he said. “Thank God, thank you Academy, thank you everyone who believed in me throughout my career. Thank you everyone who worked on this album. Mami, thank you for giving birth to me in Puerto Rico. I love you.”
“I would like to dedicate this award to all those who had to leave their homeland and homeland to pursue their dreams,” he added in English.
He concluded in Spanish: “This award goes to all of you who have lost a loved one and still had to keep moving forward.”
The artist arrived on the red carpet early in the evening wearing a custom Schiaparelli velvet haute couture tuxedo with criss-cross stitching on the back.
