Alan Ritchson claimed he “feared” for his and his children’s safety before threatening to run his “drunken” neighbor over with his motorbike during a heated argument.
The “Reacher” star detailed Sunday’s alleged “unprovoked aggression” at his neighbor Ronnie Taylor while he was riding his bike with his two sons in his Brentwood, Tennessee, neighborhood, according to a police statement obtained by Page Six.
Ritchson claimed he was walking down the street with his two sons when an “aggressive man deliberately stepped in front of (his) motorcycle in an attempt to confront (him).”
“In an attempt to avoid a collision, I had to come to a sudden stop and the bike flipped over and landed on top of me,” the actor claimed, explaining that he injured his thumb and elbow.
Mr Ritchson claimed that when he stood up, Mr Taylor approached him “as if to fight”.
“I pushed him to the ground and put some distance between us to keep me and my children safe,” he wrote, adding that the man, whom he had never seen before, threatened to “drive like a madman.”
“You could smell the alcohol on his breath,” the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles star continued.
However, Taylor continued to scream at Ritchson, who allegedly said he was “angry”, “I should have knocked him out” and “I should have run him over”.
Ritchson then tried to leave without saying anything, accusing Taylor of hitting him with his motorcycle and claiming that he called him a “shitee” to provoke him.
“As I attempted to leave peacefully, he again placed his body in front of my bike,” Ritchson wrote. “I restarted the engine as if to ask him to step aside, and he pushed me so hard with both hands that both I and the bike fell completely to the ground.”
“Having been aggressively stopped and assaulted twice by this out-of-control person, I now had complete fear for my safety and that of my children,” he claimed.
Ritchson then explained the video of him hitting Taylor, which was released, and claimed he was trying to protect himself by telling Taylor to “shut up” so he and his children could leave the house safely.
The “Fast
“He was an aggressor,” he claimed. “I had to defend myself. This is the first time in my life that I had to defend myself by force.”
In other testimony, one witness admitted that Taylor approached Ritchson and the two fought, while another witness claimed to have seen Taylor shove Ritchson first.
However, according to documents obtained by Page Six, Taylor told officers that she approached Ritchson for speeding when Ritchson allegedly got off her bike and “assaulted her.”
During an interview with TMZ, Taylor was seen with bruises and scratches on her face.
On Tuesday, the Brentwood Police Department told The Hollywood Reporter that Ritchson acted in self-defense and no criminal charges will be filed.
