Mario Dewar Barrett, known as Mario, was groped by a married female fan during a recent concert.
The R&B singer was performing at the Jack White Theater at the Detroit Masonic Temple in Detroit, Michigan, on Saturday night when the shocking assault occurred.
A TikTok user in the front row of the audience was filming Barrett, 39, serenading the crowd when a woman standing nearby slowly reached out with her left hand and grabbed Barrett between the legs.
Of note is that the woman was wearing a wedding ring.
Barrett, looking uncomfortable, let go of the perpetrator’s hand and continued singing while scolding him.
“Don’t do that,” he seemed to say, before stepping back and continuing his show.
“When a fan grabs your private area 😩,” the TikTok user wrote above his video.
She captioned the video, adding: “He was actually very nice. I thought the security guard was trying to rush her lol but I think she was wearing her entire wedding ring 😳.”
Commenters were horrified and outraged.
“That’s literal assault!” said one of them.
“I mean, why do you think that’s okay?” someone else wondered.
Another critic wrote, “That is inexcusable by any standard.”
“He looks confused 😭😭,” a fourth objector said.
A representative for Barrett did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
