Ray J is reportedly hospitalized in Las Vegas battling “severe” pneumonia.
A source close to the singer told TMZ on Wednesday that the “Love & Hip Hop” personality was admitted to the hospital last night after experiencing “heart pain” and doctors ordered an echocardiogram and X-rays.
According to the newspaper, Ray J., whose real name is William Ray Norwood Jr., has not yet received his test results.
A representative for Ray J did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The outlet reported in October 2021 that the “One Wish” hitmaker, 44, was hospitalized in Miami with the same illness.
The musician said he thought his illness was a pandemic illness and was admitted to the hospital’s COVID-19 ward.
“I thought it was over,” he told TMZ, adding, “I started praying and I knew God was good, so I just kept praying.”
He also explained that he was removed from the coronavirus task force after testing negative for the coronavirus several times over two days. He was discharged from the hospital at the end of that month.
A source told the publication at the time that the musician believed his “hectic schedule” and “regular travel” were the cause of his illness, and that after a scare he “realized he needed to take care of his health.”
He added that the “Wait a minute” hitmaker feared for his life but was “grateful” to have made a recovery.
The alleged hospitalization comes after a tumultuous year for the singer.
After he claimed in September that he was filing a federal racketeering suit against Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner (there is no other information to support this claim), the reality TV stars fired back by suing him for defamation, accusing him of “blatantly false” claims and “calculated lies” in court documents obtained by Page Six.
Ray J has doubled down on his accusations that Jenner and Kardashian were behind the ex-couple’s infamous sex tape leak, filing a countersuit against the mother-daughter duo and accusing them of lying for decades about the 2007 video.
Kardashian-Jenner’s attorney Alex Spiro called the move “frivolous” in a November statement to Page Six.
In December, Ray J was arrested for allegedly brandishing a gun at his estranged wife Princess Love and threatening to shoot a man on a Thanksgiving livestream.
Princess Love, who has two children with Ray J, filed for divorce for the fourth time in February 2024.
