“Ransom Canyon” Season 2 is officially produced, with Patricia Clarkson taking part in the cast in the role of a guest star.
Clarkson was cast as Claire O’Grady, the mother of Minka Kelly’s character, Quinn. Josh Duhamel leads the cast alongside Kelly and leads with regulars in additional series such as Lizzie Green, Garrett Wehring, Jack Schumacher, Marianly Tejada and Casey W. Johnson. Repeated cast includes Ben Robson, Heidi Engerman, Tatanka Means, Justin Johnson Cortez, Kenny Miller, Philip Winchester, Jennifer En, Brett Cullen and Nico Gardado
As previously announced, Johnson has been promoted to a series regular for the second season, but season 1 stars Eoin Macken and Andrew Liner will not return.
“We are excited to be back and can’t wait to raise steam, drama and the romance that ransom fans have come to love,” said series creator and showrunner April Blair.
“Ransom Canyon” is filmed at Netflix Studios in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Season 1 of the series debuted in April and proved to be an instant hit, with the first season spending four weeks on the Global Top 10 TV charts.
The official explanation for Season 2 is that “the future of the ransom canyon falls on balance as the ranch dynasty continues to compete for power, new faces arrive and threatens the life and love of this quaint western town.”
Blair has developed the series and serves as executive producer and showrunner. Executive produced by Dan Angel and Bradley Gardner, and both Duhame and Kelly executives have produced in addition to their appearances.
