Leading Indonesian studio Magma Entertainment has announced Qodrat 3, the latest installment in the hit series, at the JAFF Market.
Magma was founded in 2003 by brothers Charles and Linda Gozali, the children of the late Hendrik Gozali, the pioneering Garuda film producer.
“Qodrat 3” was first announced at the 1st JAFF Market last year.
Producer Charles Gozali said: “Creating Qodrat 3 is not only about responding to market demand, but also about preserving the film’s legacy. From the director’s vision and character evolution to the spiritual depth at the heart of the story, we are working with precision and care to ensure that the third installment stands on solid creative legitimacy.”
Officially announcing the launch of Qodrat 3, Magma Entertainment emphasized that Qodrat is the studio’s flagship IP as the cinematic universe expands. The next installment of the story of Ustaz Kodrat is scheduled to be released in Indonesian theaters in 2028. Charles Gozali, the main producer of the “Kodorat” series, emphasized the importance of intentional worldbuilding during a discussion session held at the Magma Entertainment booth.
The company also announced Mayat Hidup, which is being touted as a creepy and colorful comedy-horror clearly inspired by Hong Kong cinema’s iconic vampire films of the 80s and 90s. The producers promise a vibrant, dynamic tone that appeals to nostalgic cultural aesthetics cherished across Asia. Production is scheduled to start in 2026.
Producers confirmed that “Badut Gendong” is a pivotal step in the expansion of the “Kodrat” film universe, which will be released across Indonesia in 2026. Starring Martino Rio, the main plot navigates the fresh mystery of a haunting clown doll entity.
Released earlier in the day was Badut Gendong, a co-production between Magma Entertainment, Legacy Pictures, Virtulines Entertainment, VMS Studios, Caravan Studios, Malaysia’s Comet Productions, Scope Productions, Astro Shaw and India’s Applause Entertainment. Directed by Charles Gozali, the film also stars Dainta Melilla, Clara Bernadez, and Darby Romero.
“‘Badut Gendon’ is a natural evolution of the ‘Kodrat’ universe. We are not just creating a spin-off, we are building a larger, immersive narrative architecture. We are committed to maintaining the emotional depth that has always been the DNA of ‘Qodrat’,” said producer Linda Gozali.
