Makena White, the girlfriend of professional golfer Jake Knapp, passed away at the age of 28.
White’s friend announced that she had passed “early this week” in an Instagram post shared to White’s account on Friday.
“She’s already been overlooked so deeply by her father, family, friends and of course Nelly and Fergie,” the friend captioned the post, referring to White’s two dogs.
“Makena was kind of one. She had this unusual way of making you feel special, and her huge heart was always full of love,” the statement continued.
“Being loved by Makena was a gift. I came with endless laughter, so much joy, and healthy sprinkles of mixed chaos to keep up with her travel schedule.”
The message continues, suggesting that those who “want to honor Makena’s memory” will send donations to the Blue Yale Brain Health and Memory Clinic or the Griffin Bell Endowment Fund.
White’s mother, Crystal, diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, began visiting Bruyere’s Brain Health & Memory Clinic in 2018.
“We love you. We always miss you. We are looking for you at sunset,” the statement closed.
Additional details regarding White’s death have not been revealed yet.
Knapp representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment on page 6.
In her last Instagram post dated August 11th, White posted a special homage to her boyfriend 31 as he finished his second professional golf season.
“First Fairway’s second year is hugging and watching you survive your dreams,” she captioned the carousel in the photo featuring the couple. “The second season of the book – I’m forever grateful to have been involved with you on this walk. There’s so much more to come.
