Prince William and Duchess Kate may be more chill than you think.
The Prince of Wales revealed that one of the couple’s favorite activities is polar plunges.
“I felt great afterwards,” he said during a walk along the shore with members of the Marine Conservation Society’s Youth Marine Network in Colwyn Bay, North Wales, on Friday, according to the Daily Mail.
William, 43, added: “I love it. I scream and scream a lot when I get in the car.”
During his visit, he also met members of the Colwyn Bay Blue Bits, a cold water swimming group.
The philanthropist, who spoke to swimmers Chrissy Bolton, Georgia Daniels and Midge Owen-Smith, said they had fun taking a dip in cold water in Scotland.
But it was Middleton, also 43, who persuaded William, who was initially hesitant, to try his hand at this intense hobby.
In a September 2023 episode of The Good, The Bad & The Rugby podcast, she talked about her love of cold water swimming, which William thought she was “crazy” to pursue.
“I love all sports. Basically all sports. I love swimming. I love cold swimming,” she said, and her husband cut her off by saying, “The colder the better.”
“The colder the better. I love it,” she agreed. “So much so that William said, ‘Catherine, you’re crazy,'” Middleton laughed. “It’s dark and raining, so I’m going to look for some cold water.”
Somewhere between then and now, the heir to the throne must have accumulated the strength to sustain the freezing waters.
In their free time, the royal couple also likes to do various activities with their three children: Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7.
In September, parents surprised their children with a “magical” trip to the set of the Harry Potter series.
“It was very special,” a source told the Daily Mail at the time, adding that they got to meet young actors and directors on set.
“We only filmed there for one night, so it was a really magical ticket.”
Over the summer, they stepped out as a family on the final day of the 2025 Wimbledon tournament in matching colors.
