Prince William’s latest look coincidentally coincides with an outfit recently worn by his younger brother Prince Harry.
On November 19th, Prince William and his wife Kate attended the Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The performance is an annual fundraiser for the Royal Variety Charity, which has been a staple of the royal calendar for generations.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, both 43, looked fashionable in velvet as they returned to the red carpet for the first time in two years.
Princess Kate wore a dark green velvet dress with Queen Greville Chandelier earrings, while Prince William wore a tuxedo consisting of a black velvet jacket, white shirt, black bow tie, and black pants.

The Prince of Wales’s witty look was reminiscent of similar looks recently worn by his estranged brother, the Duke of Sussex.
On November 8, Prince Harry, 41, wore a very similar tuxedo to Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday party in Beverly Hills.
The James Bond-themed party was held at Jeff Bezos’ home, and Prince Harry embraced the theme in a black tuxedo, black velvet jacket, white shirt, black bow tie, and black trousers.
He added a red poppy to his lapel in memory of the fallen, and in early November pinned a flower often worn by members of the British royal family to commemorate lives lost in war.
A source told PEOPLE about the event that Meghan and Harry “arrived hand in hand and looked very happy.”

“Meghan was glowing in a black wrap-style dress that showed one leg. She looked very glamorous and fit the theme perfectly. Prince Harry looked sharp in a poppy-adorned tuxedo for Memorial Day,” a source said.
Fans spotted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex removed from a merry-go-round of photos Jenner and Kim Kardashian shared on Instagram on November 9, the UK’s Remembrance Day.
People understood the photos were removed because the Sussexes had ticked ‘no’ on a photo consent form, but a source close to the event disputed this, saying: ‘There was no consent form.’
When it comes to Prince William’s latest fashion statement, the heir to the throne seems to love velvet, with the collection featuring velvet tuxedo jackets and blazers.

The Prince of Wales recently wore another black velvet tuxedo jacket to the 2025 Earthshot Awards Ceremony held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on November 5, the prestigious global environmental competition’s annual “Super Bowl Moment.”
A Tom Ford tuxedo with an all-velvet jacket and black bow tie was already in his closet, making a sustainable statement worthy of Earthshot’s mission.
