Prince Harry is good at sports.
The British royal appeared on Wednesday’s episode of the podcast “I Don’t Know Hasan Minhaj” and tried his hand at an American accent.
Moderator Minhaj asked Prince Harry, 41, if he could speak an American accent, to which Prince Harry, who lives in California, asked, “Which region of America?”
Minhaj, 40, explained that accents can come from “anywhere” before asking guests to repeat a few sentences.
“This is the most American sentence I can think of,” the comedian admitted, before saying, “I ordered breadsticks with ranch dressing at Applebee’s.”
Harry laughed and asked him to repeat the sentence, and Minhaj emphasized the importance of emphasizing the “A” in both Ranch and Applebee’s.
“I love Applebee’s,” Minhaj prompted, to which Harry repeated, “‘Oh, Applebee’s.'” The Duke of Sussex complied, chuckling in the process.
“Right now I’m just sitting here sweating,” Harry confessed, completing the task at hand.
“I ordered a breadstick with ranch dressing at Applebee’s,” he says into the microphone in his typical American accent.
A slightly perplexed royal looked over at the staff off-camera, and Minhaj was a bit impressed and exclaimed, “That was decent.” “They had fun with it,” he joked.
The podcaster asked Harry to repeat, “Hey, do you like my Cybertruck?” He did so—more laughter followed.
Minhaj then scolded the staff for laughing behind his back, presumably playfully, and told them they were “acting for real.”
However, the prince quickly intervened and insisted that “laughter is encouraging.” But he stopped and thought aloud, “Is that encouraging me or mocking me? I’m not sure.”
Then the author of “The Spare” bent down to watch the commotion going on and cheerfully exclaimed, “Come on, everyone!”
It is worth noting that Prince Harry is married to an American (former actress Meghan Markle) and the couple has been living in the United States since 2020.
