Prince Harry concludes his trip to the UK with a visit to the only charity founded in the name of his mother, Princess Diana, who died during his latest visit to the UK.
On September 11, the 40-year-old Duke of Sussex attended a Diana Prize outing in London and joined a group of young people who showed how their social behavior initiatives helped their mental health.
The event follows a trip to Nottingham and a trip in London on Tuesday, September 8th. This includes the first in-person meeting with his father, King Charles, within 19 months.
This UK trip is one of the longest Harries to spend in his home country since the death and funeral of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth in 2022. He and his wife, Meghan Markle, retreated from the royal role in 2020 and moved to the state of California of the Duchess of Sussex.

At the event, Harry paid tribute to his mother, saying, “My mother believed that the power and institutions of youth had a positive impact on the world. The Diana Prize continues her legacy by putting youth at the heart of everything. Today, the message to everyone is not stopped and we should not be silent.
He spoke after a debate led by Manchester political activist and child rights activist Dan Rose. He also serves as the trustee of the Diana Prize. The panel featured Lottireach, Elsa Arnold, and Idrenin Hope Akpan, all 23 active in youth-driven social actions through charities.

Following the discussion, Harry shared his reflections on the stories and insights he had just heard. “It takes courage and determination to be involved in peaceful social behavior. Young people see the problems facing society. It is the result of poor mental health or inequality. But you are not standing still. Your empathy and compassion will not change you.
“When we talked about how taking action gave us purpose, confidence and joy, it was stronger than any statistic. It reminded us that agencies are not luxury for young people, it’s a lifeline.”

The Diana Prize is one of the few reasons why it integrates both 43-year-old Harry and Prince William, despite the ongoing rift. The brothers regularly – separately – take part in events celebrating young people who make a difference in communities around the world.
Despite their shared commitment, Harry attends the event without his brothers and is not expected to see William during his visit to the UK as tensions between the brothers remain unresolved.
Tessy Ojo, CEO of the charity, told people in August, “We see that they are instilling her legacy and values into generations to come. We are sure they will do it with their own family, but the Diana Prize is about continuing that legacy and passing that legacy and value to a generation of young people who have not seen her.”
Ojo added that the princes embody the values of their mothers. Duty, service, empathy, selflessness, “become an alliance with others, and be able to see the light-forming letters of others.”
On Thursday, the youngster spoke to leaders and changemaker audiences at an event hosted by ServiceNow in London, marking the year since the launch of the Diana Prize’s “10 Years of Youth Happiness.”
The event followed the launch last September of Youth Happiness, where Harry joined New York City, took part in a panel discussion and spoke about the initiative. The program is called “a bold, ambitious and collaborative plan to harness the power of young people.”

Ojo said: “Living in a diagnosticable mental health state, four in ten people feel helpless about their future. The crisis is a reality. This is why the Diana Prize launched a decade of youth happiness a year ago, prioritizing youth mental health globally.
The latest appearance of the Duke of Sussex follows his meeting at Clarence House on September 10th with King Charles. This was the first meeting since February 2024, after the palace announced that the monarch was undergoing cancer treatment.

After a stop at the Explosion Research Centre at Imperial College London, Harry arrived by car at Clarence House, Charles’ London home, around 5:20pm local time.
The Duke of Sussex was within about 55 minutes before he left.
After the meeting, Buckingham Palace confirmed that the king had private tea at Clarence House with Prince Harry, saying no additional details would be shared. A spokesman for the Duke of Sussex reflected the same, reiterating that the father and son met for tea and that there would be no further comments.
Soon afterwards, a reporter asked Harry how his father was and replied, “Yes, he’s great, thank you.”
