Prince Harry wanted to take his wife, Meghan Markle, and his children to the UK despite losing security protections.
“He hasn’t given up on his hopes of bringing his family back to the UK,” a friend of Harry told the Sunday Times on Saturday. “He wants to show his kids where he grew up. He wants to know their family here. He really wants to go back to the UK more.”

The 40-year-old Duke of Sussex did not bring his entire family to England, including his wife Meghan Markle and their children, six-year-olds and four Princess Lillivet (4 years old).
Markle and Harry then visited the UK again in September 2022 after Elizabeth passed away at the age of 96.
The prince had appealed for the British government’s decision to strip him from publicly funded security after he left his royal family duties and moved to the United States.
“At this point, we can’t see the world bringing our wives and children back to England.
Sources say the prince and his aides have admitted that “pushing the nuclear button” in a public battle with the court was “not the cleverest idea,” and reportedly cost more than $1 million.
He reportedly pursues a “quiet, under-radar approach,” and the government should expect private “lobbying” from the founders of Invictus Games.
Harry is expected to be in the UK for the Welchild Award this week, but he won’t have time to meet his father, Charles III.
The 76-year-old monarch had not seen his second son when he flew to London for a 30-minute meeting with his father after Harry announced his diagnosis of his father in February 2024.
Harry spoke to the BBC about his estranged relationship with Charles after losing a long-term fight over security for his family.
“I don’t know how long my dad has,” he shared. “He won’t talk to me for this security. Of course, some members of my family will never allow me to write a book. Of course they will never allow me to do much. But I love reconciliation with my family.”
Harry’s huge hit 2023 memoir “Spare” exposed his difficult relationship with Charles and his former brother, Prince William.
