Piers Morgan breaks his hip.
The controversial British broadcaster, 60, revealed he suffered a broken bone in an Instagram post on January 18, revealing that he sustained the injury after “stumbling over a small step.”
Morgan explained exactly how the femoral neck fracture happened, writing alongside a selfie of himself in his hospital bed: “1. tripped on a small step. 2. inside a hotel restaurant in London. (🙄) 3. fell off like a bag of spuds. 4. fractured the femoral neck. 5. needed a new hip.”
She added, “6. Recovering in hospital. 7. On crutches for 6 weeks. 8. No long-haul flights for 12 weeks. 9. What a dull start to the new year! 10. Blame Donald Trump.” (Morgan and the 79-year-old president have had a checkered relationship, dating back to the late 2000s, when Morgan appeared on Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice show.)

A photo of Morgan lying in a hospital bed showed him hooked up to an IV and oxygen.
He gave a thumbs up with one hand and took a candid snapshot with the other.

As well as a selfie from her hospital bed, Morgan also shared an image of an X-ray taken after her fall.
In the photo, he had drawn a red circle over the black and white image to emphasize the injury.
