Pete Davidson’s heartbreaking conversation with his mom influenced his drinking.
The Saturday Night Live alum reflected in a meaningful chat she shared with her mother, Amy Waters Davidson on Tuesday’s episode of Theophone’s “This Last Weekend” podcast.
“My mother is the most supportive person in the world,” Pete shared. “And that’s where I was in rehab when she called me and said, “My biggest fear is turning on the news and seeing my son passed away.” ”
The comedian, who checked in at least twice last year for mental health issues, explained that his mother is someone who “want to be proactive at all times.”
“It killed me,” Pete said. “So I was like, ‘Now, I can’t die until she dies.’ ”
Pete, 31, explained that after he died as a New York City firefighter in the September 11 terrorist attack, his mother doesn’t need to experience more heartbreak.
“I’ll have to pursue the sociopaths to ensure that my s-ts don’t come together,” he said.
Pete, who has been calm for over a year, said that his mom and many of his loved ones are standing by him throughout his struggle.
“Everyone who actually loves me and cared about me got the worst rage from me,” he said. “‘f-k you, leave me. Get ahead of me and leave me.”
However, his family and friends never abandoned him – despite his “crazy” behavior.
“I was like, ‘Oh, you call me my bluff,'” he recalled. “And I love you, and I don’t want you to leave.”
Amy and her heroic late husband also share their 28-year-old daughter, Casey, and the Davidson family continues to grow as Pete’s girlfriend Elsie Hewitt is pregnant and expects an actor and child.
“I’m calm and thank God for where I am,” Pete said.
Pete also said, “There’s no way to do it with F-King,” and “it’s possible” if the child doesn’t get clean.
The couple confirmed they are expecting a child in July, and wrote on Instagram that “Now, everyone knows we’re having sex.”
“Pete is very excited about this next chapter,” the source told Page 6 at the time. “His family is excited and I can’t wait to become my grandparents, aunts and more.”
Playboy model, 29, and Pete confirmed their relationship in March when they left for a PDA-filled holiday in Florida. Then they went smoothly with Instagram shortly afterwards.
