Tokyo’s Tiffcom market is bolstering its international profile for 2025 with new initiatives, including a co-producing seminar led by Thai Auteur Pen-ek Ratanaruang, an expanded seminar program and the launch of a Chinese Film Pavilion, which will showcase 180 recent films.

After its first emergence in TIFFCOM’s gap finance market, Ratanalan, whose performances include “Morteccina” at the Tokyo International Film Festival competition, will be the headline for an international co-producing seminar. The sessions include case studies from the film and a panel of producers Soros Suchum and Stefano Sentini (“Morte Cucina”), Shanti Harmaine (“Garuda: Dare to Dream”), Christian Immanuel (“Jumbo”), Nini Yusov (“Egen Ali”), and industrial journalists Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Suda Su Moderator.

This year, the new Chinese Film Co-producing corporation will host a pavilion featuring nearly 70 Chinese institutions. Alongside the screening, the Pavilion will be releasing the “Blue Book of Chinese Films 2025” and the “Blue Book of China Television Series 2025.” This analyses production trends and highlights top work chosen by scholars and online audiences.

The three-day market-wide seminar slate addresses the global expansion of Japan’s IP and animation, international remake strategies, and regional producer exchanges. Netflix’s “One Piece” executive producer Fujimura Tetsu will provide keynotes on adapting Japanese facilities to the global screen, while other sessions will spotlight trends in Japanese television content, new collaborations between Japan and Korea, and pitching forums organized with partners, including Kofic and Japanese cultural issues.

Tiffcom 2025 will be held from October 29th to 31st at Hamamatsu Chokan in central Tokyo.
