Four years after saying goodbye to the Shelby clan, Birmingham’s most notorious crime syndicate makes a scandalous comeback in the official trailer for Netflix’s Peaky Blinders: The Immortals. The film, a sequel to the hit crime drama series, will be released in select theaters on March 6th and available to stream on Netflix starting March 20th.
The sequel sees Cillian Murphy return to his starring role as Tommy Shelby in the Peaky Blinders universe. “It looks like Tommy Shelby wasn’t done with me…I’m thrilled to be collaborating with Stephen Knight and Tom Harper again on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is for the fans,” Murphy said of his June 2024 return.
In addition to Murphy, Sophie Rundle will reprise her role as Tommy’s sister Ada Thorne, and Stephen Graham and Ned Dennehy will return as Shelby allies Hayden Stagg and Charlie Strong, respectively. The cast also includes newcomers Rebecca Ferguson, Barry Keoghan, Tim Roth, and Jay Ricargo.
Tom Harper, who directed several episodes of the series, is directing the film. The series first aired on the BBC in 2013, and Netflix later acquired the US rights. Peaky Blinders will end in 2022 after six seasons. The show was created by British screenwriter Stephen Knight.
