RENEWALS

Paramount+’s “Canada Shore” has been renewed for a second season globally. The show is also looking for new cast members; production is welcoming applications from anyone between the ages of 19-26 who is reading to have the most “unforgettable, unfiltered summer of their life.”

“Renewing ‘Canada Shore’ was an easy choice,” said Katrina Kowalski, SVP Content, Paramount, Canada, in a statement. “The series has quickly become a fan favorite, connecting with audiences through its unmistakeable, outrageous cast who may not depict stereotypical polite Canadian-ness, but have hearts much bigger than the chaos they bring.”

“Canada Shore” brings Canadian singles to sun-soaked shores, where “they party, flirt and turn every night into a once-in-a-lifetime memory,” per the logline. “But between all the hookups, full-throttle fun and hangovers, this wild crew became a family that laughs together, fights together and supports each other.”

The 10-episode first season had its finale on March 19th and is streaming on Paramount+. “Canada Shore” is produced by Insight Productions (a Blue Ant Studios company).

LAUNCHES

Producer Tommy Harper *“Wednesday,” “Top Gun: Maverick”) has launched the vertical drama platform VeYou. The platform will be available for Android on April 7. IOS availability will come in the future.

The platform’s first launch is an action-romance, “Love Under Fire,” starring Kasey Esser, who also wrote and produced the series. VeYou will integrate AI across the company, including development, packaging and distribution to build “a proprietary data layer around audience behavior and episode-level performance to inform creative decisions,” per the company.

“The growth of vertical storytelling is undeniable, but the current model has creative limitations,” said Harper in a statement. “Our focus is on building meaningful IP—stories that connect early, scale globally, and can evolve into lasting franchises—while redefining how vertical storytelling is created, distributed, and experienced.”
